Pam Morton is a local artist and lives in New Hartley Village Whitley Bay.
I trained at Newcastle College of Art in Graphic Design, I then started my career as a display artist for a large store in Newcastle. After having my three children I took on a different career path and moved into business development for many years. I started my own company three years ago. This has now allowed me to start to paint again as I mainly work from home.
My inspiration comes from my mother who was an artist herself and she always encouraged me to pursue my love of painting.
I work mainly in Acrylics and Pencil, I do like large bold works of art that stand out give a wow factor.
My latest painting “Madly Deeply” depicts the beauty of horses and the emotion I feel you get from the bone structure and presence they show. I tend to paint with as much detail that allows it to look like the real thing but not too exact.
I love the human form and feel pencil drawings allow more freedom of dark and shade. Hands are a particular part of the body that tell a tale of the life of someone.
